Classes meet at various times during the year in preparation for First Communion. We believe that parents are the best people to decide when their children are ready to begin receiving Holy Communion. When children start showing an interest in receiving communion, it may be the right time. For further information, talk with Pastors Kurt or Carolyn and/or visit the ELCA websites: http://www.elca.org/dcm/worship/faq/communion/age.html and http://www.elca.org/dcm/worship/worship/sacraments/umg.html. Whether a child has received instruction and begun participating in communion or not, children are urged to attend a Communion Milestone Class in February during the fourth grade on Wednesdays, 6 - 7 PM. Following that instruction, students will celebrate the milestone on Sunday, February 27, at the 10:30 AM service. |
