BOOK CLUB:  The Lakes Lutheran Book Club will be meeting Saturday, March 1 at 10:00 AM at Kim Hall’s house (838-0291).  Call for directions.  We will be discussing Sue Monk Kidd’s The Secret Life of Bees, highly recommended by some of our members.  Read the book (or listen to it on tape) before the meeting, and enjoy thought-provoking discussion and fellowship!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 2008 Women’s Retreat

 

WOMEN’S RETREAT:  Our 2008 Women’s Retreat – Be Thou My Vision – is based on Matt. 6:21; “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (NRSV).  It will be Friday/Saturday, April 25/26 at Mt. Potosi Pines; the cost will be $75.  Registration will begin Sat./Sun. March 8, 9, and will be limited to 28 persons.  The cut-off for cancellations with refund, as well as receipt of all balances due, will be Sunday, April 20.  We will be carpooling from the church on Friday afternoon at 5:30 PM, and returning Saturday at approximately 3:00 PM.

 

Our retreat will be facilitated by Dr. Roisin O’Loughlin, director of Stillpoint Center for Spiritual Development.  Dr. O’Loughlin has worked as a Spiritual Director in private practice in Las Vegas for the past seven years.  Her work includes individual and group spiritual direction and holistic counseling.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Post-Graduate degrees in Education and Religious studies from Ireland Universities.  More recently she gained certification in Spirituality and a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Studies from Loyola’s University in Chicago.  Roisin holds a Doctorate of Ministry degree in Spiritual Direction from The Graduate Theological Foundation in Indiana, Oxford and Rome.  She has been a member of the Irish Sisters of Mercy and is a popular presenter of retreats, workshops, and seminars in Ireland, Canada, and USA.
