Sunday, June 8
The cast—the youth choir from St. Steven’s Lutheran Church, Bloomington, Minnesota—will present “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at 7:00 PM that evening, with potluck at 6:00. The lodging—your place I now only need one more family for 2 kids, and 2 more to house the 4 adults They’ll be singing at Christ Lutheran on the following night. Renee Jarvis is a former member of this high school choir and will be the coordinator for this event, but she needs help with this task. Please call the office at 363-2515 or Renee at 256-3653 or email rjarvis@themeadowsschool.org. To host two or more high school students or adults, you would provide a bed, couch, or floor on Sunday night (June 8) and Monday (June 9) along with breakfast. This would be a great opportunity to share the hospitality of Christ, and you would probably get more out of it than you give. We already have people signed up, but we need many more.
If you are 50 or older you automatically qualify for this Senior Event Thursday, May 8, 12 noon. Bring a your own brown-bag lunch, and a wrapped white elephant gift. Myrna Wilson will teach us a card game that will encourage us to look out for ourselves, steal from one another, and laugh together. This is only the beginning, for we may well end up planning trips to Lake Mead, visits to the Louvre, and other monthly times of fellowship, eating, and caring for our community of faith. While this group may focus on sharing a good time, we will also blend in some growing in the grace of Christ and reaching out in service to those in need. |
